コロナ禍以前に、毎年訪れていたロンドン。
音楽・ファッション・家での過ごし方やライフスタイル、スケートボードを通して綺麗に磨き上げてもらった大好きな都市です。
そんなロンドンのクラブや、趣のある古い建築物の美術館やパブでのトイレで度々目にした"木の棒"、建築様式が古く換気設備が十分に整備されていない場所や、歴史ある景観を守られている箇所でよく目にしました。
焚いてあったり、ただ置かれているだけであったり、インセンスはお香しか知らなかった自分に衝撃的な影響を与えてくれました。
それは、好きなときに、好きな時間だけ。現地で目にしたのも、お香とは異なり一度に一本消費する必要は無く、自分の今の”キブン”に合わせて焚いたり消したり、必要なときに必要なだけ香りを楽しんでいるように映りました。

Prior to the pandemic, I would go on a trip to London every year.
I love London for its music, fashion, skateboarding, and overall lifestyle. Even the way people spend their time at home on a rainy day is something I find charming.
I have a lot of love for this city and its beautiful cultures and people. I believe my frequent visits to London have polished me as a person.
Through my visits to London, I encountered “wooden sticks” placed in clubs, quaint old museums, and even pub toilets in London. These wooden sticks were often placed on the side in buildings which were old and not well ventilated, and historical landscapes which were being preserved.
Whether lit up or just simply placed down somewhere with no fire nearby, these wooden sticks, which I later learned were palo santo sticks, were a culture-shock for me. Growing up in Japan, these types of incense were not something I saw around. In Japan there are incenses called okō(お香), which is said to have been brought to Japan centuries ago together with Buddhism.
My biggest attraction to palo santo sticks came from their flexible usage. Unlike okō, which is typically burned all the way through in one use, palo santo sticks did not need to be burned all at once. I enjoyed that I could casually choose to light it up or extinguish it as I desired.
The palo santo sticks we provide through ReCent product are infused with a unique blend of natural essential oils. Therefore, even if they are unlit, just leaving them out can provide a scent that is both relaxing and invigorating.
